SENSEsational Science 2022

SENSE is back, better, and back to being in person! SENSE is an opportunity for teachers to explore the most exciting attractions and nature areas in Tulsa and learn new ways to engage students in STEAM while meeting academic standards. The best part- you do not need to be a science teacher to apply!  We encourage teachers from all content areas and teacher teams from the same school to apply.

Hosted by Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance

Open to PK-12th grade teachers in the Tulsa metro area.  Teachers must hold a current Oklahoma teaching certificate.

Commitment Meeting: Thursday, May 5th, from 4 pm to 5 pm.
Workshop Availability:  June 6, 2022 to June 17, 2022

In order to participate fully, teachers must do the following:

  • Attend a commitment meeting via Zoom approximately one month prior to the start of SENSE.
  • Participate by exploring the SENSE Schedule of Events starting June 6, 2022.
  • Attend at least two follow-up sessions during the 2022-23 school year (dates TBA).
  • Attend the workshops and follow-up sessions to receive a stipend.

Teachers will be required to complete pre-and post-surveys and submit a deliverable at the end of the session. The deliverable should be a lesson plan or school action plan.

Activities are in the Tulsa area and may require driving to multiple locations. Teachers are responsible for their own transportation.  Some activities require attendees to be outdoors and may include walking/hiking moderate distances on uneven terrain.

The deadline to apply is 11:55 pm on Monday, March 1, 2022. Space is limited and completing this application does not guarantee acceptance.

You will be notified of acceptance by Friday, March 25, 2022.
